New Event: Make Your Own Ornament:
Saturday 5th October 2013, 10am-4pm
Saturday 14th December 2013, 10am-4pm
How would you like to make your own glass ball ornament for the holiday season? Open to children (6 yrs+) and adults alike, this experience allows you to work with hot glass up close, while staying on the cool end of the glassblowing iron at all times. You’ll get to choose the colors and the size of your ornament, and then partner with our professional glassblowers to create your custom glass ball. You will make the ornament by blowing air through the moving blowpipe as the glassblower guides the glass with special tools. Once you and the glassblower have made your ornament, it is removed from the blowpipe, a glass loop is added and it is placed in an oven to begin an overnight slow cooling process. Ornaments are ready for pick up in 3 days or can be shipped for an additional fee.

Design Your Own Paperweight:
Saturday 9th February 2013
10am - 4pm
Celebrating the arts in the Kingston community, we invite people to visit our hot studio during the
coldest time of the year and design a glass work of your own. Participants create paperweights
by selecting their own colours and designs (heart shaped stencils will be available for those one-of-a-kind gifts that
will be available just in time for Valentine’s Day).
After the colour and design has been formed, participants watch as a glassblower pours molten hot glass onto their creation to form a paperweight.
